Our Story

J’s Hole in the Wall is a family owned and operated restaurant. We offer dine-in and carry-out options, as well as catering. We opened in 2010, and we originally intended to just bring something a little different to the folks of Bryant and the surrounding rural areas. We wanted to give our customers a meal that was cooked to order with homemade sides that are prepared fresh daily. We offer pulled pork, baby back ribs (seasonal), beef brisket (seasonal) and chicken, smoked the old-fashioned way, over hickory coals. We also have fresh chicken tenders, shrimp, flounder and catfish, all hand-breaded using our own seasonings and then fried to a golden-brown perfection. Burgers made from the freshest ground beef available, hand-patted and cooked to order. We are only open Thursday-Saturday offering the full menu, and Sunday we offer only a meat and three with dessert and drink included. We strive to give you the best price available, so we only accept cash and personal checks. We now have people who drive from all over for the unique experience of eating at “The Hole in the Wall.”

 About Bryant

Bryant is a unique town, rich in history, dating back to before the Civil War. We have a population of about 3,600 people, and we cover almost 50 square miles of land. We are atop Sand Mountain, which overlooks both Tennessee and Georgia, with views so unimaginably beautiful. We are the furthest you can go in Alabama without actually going into Tennessee or Georgia. There is actually a place you can hike to from Nickajack Lake and be “in three states at once,” with each foot and a hand in a different state. While you are around the lake, you can also check out the hundreds of thousands of grey bats that reside in Nickajack Cave. The Tennessee river winds around the foot of the mountain in Tennessee before going on into Alabama. Bryant has vacation rental cabins and a bed and breakfast for travelers seeking peace and quiet and beautiful views of the Tennessee River Valley, from an altitude of about 1,600 feet. If you’ve never been to our town, you’re definitely missing out! We hope to see you soon!
